Benelux Base is one of the youngest divisions in the Rebel Legion family. It all began when a couple of people in Belgium with a shared interest in Star Wars costuming started attending events and conventions, dressed up in their handmade Star Wars costumes and attire. After some browsing on the internet one of us stumbled on The Rebel Legion website.

At that time Belgium was listed as having no active members and in effect, no commanding officer to lead possible members whatsoever. The representation of the legion at that moment was 0,0%. After carefully reading all the information on the website we decided to enlist ourselves into the legion, after we had asked the Rebel Legion Commander (LCO) for further information. We soon received the answers to our questions of what needed to be done from our part.

The Belgian Outpost was founded in October 2006, and kicked off with only three members. In order to form an outpost a minimum of 3 members was required at that time. We rapidly increased our numbers and after two months we surpassed our main target of that moment, which was getting at least ten active members. At this point we requested a status change from outpost to base. This was finally approved in the beginning of February 2007.

Meanwhile our numbers kept on growing and growing and even people from the Netherlands wanted to join our ranks. There was just one small problem. The Netherlands were not part of our territory. In order to make it work we requested an expansion of our territory from The Rebel Legion council and we got it approved. Benelux base, which is short for Belgium-Netherlands-Luxemburg, was born and we welcomed the Dutch into our midst. At present we have about +20 active members. We also managed to send a delegation of eleven people from our base to Celebration Europe.

We only have one objective: getting together, have fun and promote The Rebel Legion in the best possible way with our Star Wars costumes. Anyone who wants to join our ranks is more than welcome to do so and who knows, soon we can perhaps welcome even you in our ranks as our latest member !
